Footpath Cottage is a Grade II listed building, dating from around 1850 and situated in the heart of the picturesque village of Edith Weston, which is on the south shore of Rutland Water.

Constructed of local stone with an original Collyweston slate roof, the cottage comprises sitting room, bathroom and kitchen; two good sized bedrooms, one with twin beds and the other a double bed. An  additional bed can be supplied if required for four individuals.

Modernised throughout within the last 10 years it has all the facilities you would expect for modern living yet has retained its character with a wood beamed ceiling in the sitting room and inglenook fireplace housing a wood burning stove to complement the central heating.

It has a fully fitted and well equipped kitchen including dishwasher, fridge/freezer, washer/dryer and microwave oven. TV and DVD player along with radio/CD player are also provided. All linen is provided.

Separately there is secure storage and drying facilities for fishing, cycling and walking equipment. An additional freezer is available for  trout catches.

The garden and patio area provide a peaceful space to sit and enjoy a glass of wine or for children to play safely.

Locality

The village pub ‘The Wheatsheaf’ is 2 minutes walk away and our well stocked Village Shop and Post Office is only 3 minutes walk.

There is a children’s play area in the village field immediately behind the cottage providing swings, slide and climbing frame.

The Wheatsheaf serves a varied menu of good home-cooked food at reasonable prices and has a selection of real ales and wines either by the glass or bottle.

The Fishing Lodge and Normanton Cycle Hire Centre are 5 minutes walk as is the Rutland Sailing Club.

We can provide a starter pack for your arrival or to cater for that special occasion. All you need to do is tell us your requirements and we’ll do our utmost to provide everything you need throughout your stay.

Breakfasts, packed lunches and evening meals can also be provided to order, ask for our menu and price list.

Price: £275 - £375 per week. Mid-week and weekend breaks available.
